Tascam announced it is releasing two new portable handheld recorders.
The two-channel models are the DR-05PX and DR-07PX. They each have a 32-bit float recording mode with up to a 32-bit/96kHz sample rate. The recorders support up to 512 GB memory cards.
Each of the new models has built-in microphones. The DR-05PX has an omnidirectional, fixed-position condenser microphone, while the DR-07PX has a unidirectional stereo condenser microphone that is adjustable. Both capture audio levels up to 125 dB SPL.
Tascam says each recorder can be used as a 2-in/2-out USB-C audio interface for connection to a digital audio workstation for PCs, Macs and iOS devices. The company says they provide approximately 17 hours of battery life.
The recorders can be connected to a computer via USB-C to act as an external microphone.
The new models come with a built-in chromatic tuner and reverb effect, which the company says are suited for musicians. Low-cut filter options are also included for reducing noise. The DR-07PX can also be attached to a tripod mount.
The DR-05PX lists for $119 USD, while the DR-07PX lists for $149 USD.
The models are available for pre-order and their expected availability at outlets is Feb. 7.
