Houston’s Gow Media Updates to AudioVault 11

The company owns three radio stations including ESPN Houston

From the Radio World “Who’s Buying What” page: The Houston-based Gow Media is deploying the AudioVault 11 media management software through Broadcast Electronics for its three radio stations and their associated web sites.

The media company owns “ESPN Houston,” 97.5 KFNC(FM), licensed to Mont Belvieu, Texas and its associated translator, 92.5 K223CW(FM) in Houston. The company also operates Houston’s Vietnamese-formatted 1560 KGOW(AM).

Gow worked with BE for the software installation. BE said that AV11 has approximately 100 new capabilities, such as the integration of Adobe Audition. AV 11 also includes the CloudVault disaster recovery option as well as the AudioVault Anywhere feature, which allows remote access and operation over the web.

A.D. Rigmaiden, Gow Media’s chief engineer, said that BE worked with Gow’s staff to ensure a smooth transition from its existing AVFlex installation, which they had been using since 2011. The upgrade was completed in four days. Rigmaiden lauded the efforts of Charlie Noble, BE application engineer.

Gow said it has been using BE products since the Houston media company was founded in 2007.

Rigmaiden said that personnel at the stations have adapted to the new software and are using the ability to make real-time changes to a station’s on air feed with the AVScheduler feature.
