Futuri has substantially redesigned its TopicPulse content intelligence product.
The platform scans X, Instagram, Facebook and a quarter-million news sources to identify stories that are intended to resonate with a station’s local audience and target demographics.
The company says TopicPulse now allows for more niche searches. For instance, while a Google search for events in Jacksonville, Fla., might return a list of sites like newspapers or city calendars, TopicPulse now can use keywords and short queries such as “local events in Jacksonville” to find content like the Beaches Arts Festival, Jingle Bell Run or Springfield Block Party, a Futuri spokesperson told Radio World, producing more useful results.
Also, in the past, the creation of “Pulse” or content libraries required company support and had limitations on the number. Now users can create “Smart Pulses” without restrictions.
Also new is a Community Radar feature that searches public Facebook groups to discover very localized content. “It highlights activities happening within subdivisions, streets or neighborhoods that may not make mainstream media but resonate deeply with local residents.” An example would be a yard sale or reports of porch pirates in a neighborhood.
Another feature called Hot Zips uses data from PPM markets to focus on Zip codes where listeners with meters are located. “Stations can use this feature to target stories in specific areas to enhance relevance or improve their presence in key Zip codes.”
Futuri has also enhanced content searches with “Sentiment Tags” that let users filter content by emotional tone, such as funny, cutesy or poignant. And users can now customize embedded widgets for more flexibility and personalization.
