AI-Based SPECai Adds to Its User List

Sales tool creates spec spots on the fly for radio clients

A fast-growing area for the use of artificial intelligence in radio is the creation of audio “spec spots” while sitting with a station client. Here’s an example from our Who’s Buying What page

Adams Radio Group and Southern Stone Communications have signed on to use an AI-based spot tool offered by ENCO Systems, Benztown and Compass Media Networks.

Adams is using the SPECai tool in Tallahassee, Fla.; Las Cruces, N.M.; and Valparaiso and Fort Wayne, Ind.

Southern Stone has integrated SPECai in Jackson, Tenn.; Valdosta, Ga.; Daytona Beach, Fla.; and Huntsville, Ala.

SPECai uses AI technology to generate spec spots in English and Spanish, including regional accents. It was a recipient of the Radio World Best of Show Award at the 2024 NAB Show in Las Vegas.

The tool offers multiple script options for each spec spot, dozens of voices and various writing tone options.

Other companies using the tool include Connoisseur Media, Summit Media, Magnum Communications, Bennett Radio Group, Black Diamond Broadcasting, Local Media San Diego and Yavapai Broadcasting.
