From the Radio World “Who’s Buying What” page: As part of its 40th anniversary, Radio Clodia completed restructuring its broadcast systems, including digitization and optimization of the station’s technical resources.

The Chioggia-based FM station, established in 1984, covers the northern Italian region of Vento on 103.6 MHz, as well as streaming online and via an app.

Milan-based integrator BVmedia managed the project.

“Radio Clodia naturally chose top-quality products, including a 10-channel DHD SX2, which is being used both as the studio console and for audio routing,” Roberto Zeccara, BVmedia senior project manager, stated.

Zeccara noted that the DHD consoles can share AoIP Dante channel mapping across the entire production and broadcast facility, and can be quickly configured to suit each user’s preferences. The DHD Assist app ensures presenters or other users can get secure network-connected technical support when needed.

“The DHD SX2 mixer also integrated perfectly with other elements of the project such as the AVT telephone hybrid solution,” he stated.

The mixers are paired with DHD XC3 IP cores with two dual-core DSP modules. The modules jointly support up to 48 stereo faders, 72 stereo buses, and 16 channels of AES67 IP audio.

For the audio output, BVmedia installed a new Orban Optimod 5950 processor to boost audio quality for both Radio Clodia’s FM transmissions and its audio streaming.
