Audacy released photos of its new Studio 1 and newsroom at KNX News in Los Angeles. The rooms went live Sunday morning.

“L.A.’s Morning News co-anchor Mike Simpson was the first anchor behind the mic in the station’s new Studio 1 at Audacy Los Angeles, after nearly 20 years in facilities on a different floor,” the company said in its announcement.

“The makeover took over a year to complete. KNX News extends its heartfelt thank you to the crews and IT team who worked tirelessly to bring this new the newsroom and studio to life.”

The project was led by Alex Silverman, director of news and programming for KNX News; Damon Stewart, director of technical operations for Audacy Los Angeles; and Tracy Schutt, workspace manager with Audacy’s corporate real estate team.

“The studio and newsroom were previously located on a different floor on the same building on Wilshire Boulevard on Los Angeles’ Miracle Mile,” a company spokesperson told us. “This move integrates all of Audacy Los Angeles stations into a single facility, which will allow for better collaboration across formats.”

Other stations with facilities there include KRTH “K-Earth 101,” KROQ-FM, KTWV “94.7 The Wave,” KCBS-FM “93.1 Jack FM” and Channel Q.

Radio World will feature more coverage of this project soon.
