WorldCast Unveils APTmpX v2

Intended to broadcasters transitioning to MPX transport

Promising “unmatched transparency and efficient RDS integration,” WorldCast will use the spring NAB Show to introduce Version 2 of APTmpX.

“APTmpX, an award-winning technology delivering high-fidelity, compressed MPX/composite transport over IP, now includes the integration of RDS transport as synchronized data and as a RDS 57 kHz subcarrier,” the company said.

“Previously available only in the 900 kbps version, this extended RDS feature is now available at the lower bitrates of 300, 400 and 600 kbps.”

The company highlights APTmpX for its signal integrity, stability and resilience to packet loss.

Version 2 is progressively being deployed across WorldCast Systems codecs starting with APTmpX Software for Windows, designed for integration with third-party software sound processors, to be followed by WorldCast’s Virtual APT IP Codec, and hardware codecs including APT IP Codec, APT Silver MPX Encoder/Decoder, APT AoIP Multichannel Codec and Ecreso FM AiO Series transmitters.

“This approach ensures a smooth transition for broadcasters looking to optimize MPX transport over IP while preserving their existing infrastructure,” WorldCast stated.
