Nautel has begun shipping its new VX Series FM transmitters. The lineup includes models in 11 power outputs from 150 W to 6 kW. Models up to 2 kW are shipping, while higher-power ones will follow this year.
Building on the VS Series, Nautel says, the analog VX Series offers advanced control, instrumentation and features in a compact footprint. “The architecture of the new series incorporates state-of-the-art DSP, power supply and FET technology to ensure robust performance, serviceability and value.”
The VX Series has an updated RF power chain using a high-voltage FET that Nautel says provides superior analog FM performance. Its power chain has been mated with a dual-core DSP for clean signal generation. “Nautel also adopted titanium-grade industrial power supplies, which are hot-swappable with easy front-panel access.”
Control is accomplished via the new HTML5 Advanced User Interface, which recently was redesigned.
Nautel also highlights the VX Series for high AC-RF efficiency; depths of only 20 to 25 inches; a large color display; easy access to FETs, fans and filters; instrumentation, RDS, SNMP and presets typical of higher-power transmitters; a four-year warranty; and optional Orban Inside processing.
The company will be at the NAB Show in Booth W2843.
