WorldCast Systems has introduced APTmpX Software, describing it as a cost-effective enhancement to its APT codec line.

“Built on the award-winning APTmpX algorithm for MPX/Composite transmission, the APTmpX Software is an easy-to-deploy version designed to operate seamlessly with leading third-party software sound processors,” it said in the release.

The APTmpX Software is intended for broadcasters looking for an MPX solution that’s simple to implement affordably. It is designed for installation on Windows platforms and ingests MPX over AES67, integrating into existing studio infrastructures.

“It delivers superior signal quality with highest transparency at bitrates of 300/400/600 kbps,” the company said. It includes the company’s SureStream technology for reliable transmission with packet redundancy and low latency. “With this solution, broadcasters maintain the highest signal quality across the entire MPX over IP broadcast chain,” it said.

APTmpX Software is compatible with APT hardware codecs, APT’s virtual codec and Ecreso FM AiO Series transmitters.

WorldCast is offering the software free with purchase of an Ecreso FM AiO Series transmitter equipped with APT IP Decoder. It also will demo the software at IBC in September.
