Nautel’s “Transmission Talk Tuesday” Series Starts Back Up

Sessions resume on Jan. 21

Nautel’s “Transmission Talk Tuesday” series will resume this month with a new session dubbed “Back to the Basics.”

On Jan. 21, host Jeff Welton will be joined by Burley Stapley, corporate chief engineer of Blanchard River Broadcasting, to discuss soldering skills as well as “must-haves” and other essentials for the toolkit.

“As with all skills, the less we use them, the rustier we get,” said Jeff Welton in a Nautel press release, “so this should be a fun discussion on how to get the job done. We invite our attendees to bring their lists of things to consider with basic engineering skills and tools.”

On Feb. 11, the second Transmission Talk Tuesday session of the year will cover “optimizing audio.” This time, Welton will be joined by Adam Robinson from DJB Radio to talk about what should be considered when looking at the path from a station’s microphone to transmitter.

“We were originally going to talk about automation systems, but decided we needed to expand this discussion,” said Welton in the release. “We plan to dive deep into stability, performances and best practices.”
