Wheatstone has named Kelly Parker its director of product development.
Parker leaves his position as Townsquare Media’s vice president of broadcast operations. It marks a return to Wheatstone for Parker, who originally joined the company in 2004 as a systems engineer and spent 14 years contributing to the development of its AoIP technology.
“I’ve been on the other side of the industry running 300-plus radio stations for the past few years,” Parker said in a release from Wheatstone. “Things are definitely changing and Wheatstone is uniquely positioned to adapt technology to those changes.”
In the release, Wheatstone CEO Gary Snow highlighted Parker’s perspective as both a user and developer of the company’s technology, calling it a valuable asset.
Parker’s responsibilities will include overseeing product development for Wheatstone’s AoIP, streaming, virtualization, mic and on-air processing and software server lines.
He will be based at Wheatstone’s New Bern, N.C., factory. Parker said the company’s centralized operations under one roof offer an advantage in designing and testing new product developments quickly, according to Wheatstone.
