The FCC’s Enforcement Bureau took over more than $28 million in enforcement actions in fiscal year 2002 and Bureau Chief David Solomon pledges to continue to take strong actions against commission rule violators. Of that total, $3.5 million was levied to enforce public safety rules. The bureau vowed to continue to take action against unlicensed station operators and is stepping up efforts to crack down on excessive RF radiation from towers. The enforcement bureau is now three years old.
