The author is director of the WX4EMC Tech Team, a non-profit amateur radio group devoted to building and maintaining infrastructure for responders to effectively communicate during emergencies and disasters. He is also a volunteer advisor and mentor for Pochalla FM 88.1, serving residents and refugees on the South Sudan-Ethiopian border.
