SoundStack Names Thomas to Strategic Role

Industry veteran says, “Call me primordial digital ooze”

SoundStack has named Rockie Thomas as chief strategy officer, a newly-created role.

The company sells “audio as a service” products to digital audio businesses including broadcasters and podcasters. Thomas has been its chief revenue officer since 2017.

CEO Jon Stephenson was quoted in the release, “From her years in broadcast, to being a trailblazer in programmatic advertising, to helping create measurement standards in audio, and more, Rockie is better suited than anyone to lead publishers on a path of control, choice and the growth that comes from it.”

She was an early employee at AdsWizz, co-founded the IAB Podcast groups and co-authored podcast measurement technical guidelines.

Here’s a quote from her bio on LinkedIn: “I come from a geek pedigree and thrive in an environment where I can innovate, move fast and implement quicker. While I prefer growth medium similar to digital agar, I have learned to grow and thrive in the most acidic economic and development conditions … call me primordial digital ooze.”
