HD Radio Devices Are Part of Digital Home Offerings

9.05.2008

HD Radio backers expect this year’s Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association Expo — a show for the residential electronic systems industry — will help them showcase new HD Radio receivers.

More than 20 IBOC models are on display in Denver; seven new products have been unveiled from Integra, McIntosh Laboratories and Yamaha.

iTunes tagging is supported by some models on display including the Polk Audio I-Sonic Entertainment System 2, in addition to AV receivers Yamaha RX-V3900 and Yamaha RX-Z7.

Audio manufacturers such as Audio Design Associates, Denon, Marantz, Niles Audio, Onkyo and Polk offer a lineup of custom-install, home theater receivers and processors that feature HD Radio technology.

IBiquity Digital President/CEO Bob Struble said adoption of HD Radio technology by consumer electronics companies in the advanced home audio system arena “is yet another proof point in the overall manufacturer dedication to offering consumers a variety of HD Radio products that enhance their entertainment experience across a wide-ranging price point spectrum.” He described the offerings as a “host of core high-end and mid-range components.”

Integra’s DHC 9.9, DTR 8.9 and DTR 9.9; McIntosh’s TM2 (a module for the MA6600 tuner); and Yamaha’s RX-V1900, RX-V3900 and RX-Z7 were shown.
