Jan. 23 will be HD Radio/IBOC night for SBE Chapter 15. It plans a tour of WOR’s HD installation, and a discussion of the installation and operation of HD Radio for both AM and FM.
The WOR portion will be presented by Tom Ray from WOR, corporate director of engineering for Buckley Broadcasting. Harris Corp. and Ibiquity Digital Corp. will have representatives attending to answer questions.
Ray said the WOR transmitter site will be open for tours of the IBOC installation starting at 3 p.m. “We will close up shop there around 6:30 and adjourn to Harold’s New York Deli up the street, home of some of the finest corned beef in the area,” he said.
“There will be a presentation by me on the WOR installation, especially for people who can’t make the tour; then I will turn it over to Ibiquity and Harris for Q&A.”
