Airtime, a free and open source Linux-based automation suite from Sourcefabric, is available in version 2.1.

Version 2.1’s main additions are real-time show editing and live streaming, according to a release.

Airtime’s lead developer Martin Konecny said: “Airtime 2.1 is a big step forward for open source radio … Hundreds of independent radio stations worldwide can now broadcast interviews, concerts or entire shows live with the new live stream rebroadcast feature.”

The new editing functions focus on live, on-the-air editing for quick response and last minute changes. Tracks can be shuffled via drag and drop.

Additional improvements include GUI modifications, a playout log, better track monitoring and preview options along with a corrupt track detector.
