As RW has reported, the question of quantifying the listening to such services is a contentious one. Triton Digital says its measurement platform seeks to help users compare various sources. Average Active Sessions is defined as total listening hours divided by hours in the reported time period. (Session Starts and Average Time Spent Listening also are reported.) The “domestic” ranker shown above refers to listening done inside the U.S. based on log-based information provided by the stations; this ranking is not accredited by the Media Rating Council.

Triton’s full April rankings also include seven-day, 6 a.m.–midnight daypart rankings, as well as “All Streams” Rankers that verify the quantity of streams without qualifying where they are being consumed. The latter is MRC accredited.

Pandora continues to sit atop the daypart rankings; Clear Channel heads the all-streams ranks.
